Mic comparisons - Schoeps cmc6 + mk2 omni capsule vs. Gold-Line mk-10c omni

Instructions

• Download the zipfile and unzip the wavefiles
• Both wavefiles are suitable for looping - loop, listen and compare using a good monitoring system
• Both microphones were the same distance from the three sound sources
• Both recordings were gain matched using a B&K 4231 mic calibrator
• The first sound source is 0.5 meter in front of the mics
• The second sound source is 1.0 meter in front of the mics
• The third sound source is 2.0 meters in front of the mics
• Can you identify the three sound sources?
• Can you hear a difference between the two mics?
• Other microphones similar in style (not necessarily the same performance) to the Gold-Line mk-10c include:
• Audix TR40
• Sabine SQ-1001
• dbx RTA-M
• Behringer ECM-8000
